Master's Message

Brothers,
With installation over it is now time to get to work. And my brothers, there is much work to be done. This year I want to focus on a few main areas: membership growth, membership retention, and ritual.
In the area of membership growth I plan on holding many public events throughout the year. Annawon will host two Open Houses this year, which will build off the success of our Open House last year. Also, I have contacted Grand Lodge about a lodge dedication ceremony for our new lodge building . I am working on more public events, all of which I hope will help us gain new members.
In the area of membership retention I feel we can make the most improvement. Any new petitioner to our lodge will be assigned a mentor. This mentor will talk with the candidate at least once as week. They will keep him informed of the upcoming lodge events, work to ensure he can pass his required ritual proficiency, and make him feel comfortable and welcome.
Related to ritual, I have two goals: increased ritual quality, and a deepened ritual bench. These goals will be accomplished through regular lodge ritual practice that will be held every Wednesday from 7:30PM to 9:30PM at the lodge building. All brothers are welcome and encouraged to attend on any Wednesday that they are available.
My brothers, I will also be making myself available for "office hours" at the lodge building every third and fifth Monday of the month. You are welcome to come with questions or suggestions, to work on ritual, talk about lodge, or anything other concern that you may have.
I am committed to making our lodge better, and am willing to make any effort needed to do that.
